| It is the TILT of the Earth that gives us the seasons, NOT the actual distance from the Sun. | |

| The Sun is actually considered a medium-sized star compared to other stars in the universe. Despite that fact, exactly 1,293,809 Earths can fit inside the Sun. That's over one MILLION copies of the Earth inside a medium-sized star. It's a crazy thing to think about :O
(I surprised myself with that one. I knew 90% of that fact off the top of my head. I knew that roughly over one million could fit, I just wasn't sure on the exact number.) | |

| Scientists use the Doppler Effect of wavelengths (normally associated with sound) to determine how a star move in relation to the earth, even ones that are light-years away. | |

| A light year is the distance that light travels through space in one Earth year (365.25 days). That distance is equal to exactly 9,460,730,472,580.8 km. (That's over nine TRILLION kilometers!) | |

| Astrophysicists don't usually use the light-year as their preferred measurement of astronomical distances. They use the parsec (parallax of one arcsecond) which is equal to just under 31 trillion kilometres or approx 3.26 light-years. | |
